What’s your name and how would your Pangyaos describe you?

I am Julie Duque-Yim, during my OFW days, I attend church in Sai Kung. My friends knew me as a leader of a group, assistant for the choir and interpretative dancer for worship songs, but sometimes they find me grumpy/grouchy, and that has been my attitude since I was a kid because I am the youngest in the family.

What motivates you at work?

Ever since I was single, until now that I'm married, I did not stop loving my family. I supported my parents when they were still alive and continue to support my siblings, their children and their grandchildren and looking forward to the future with my husband who supports me now.

When you’re feeling homesick, what do you do to occupy yourself?

I haven't felt homesick since my parents gone away...as of now, I'm happy living with my husband. But sometimes I get bored because I don't have a kid so I go to work to ease my boredom. Thanks for being with PANGYAO group..I feel great.

What is the best thing you like about living in Hong Kong?

Everyone is equal under the law, Hong Kong has public hospitals, we have electric bill subsidies, traveling allowance from the government and from my company, they even accept some refugees and support their living...

HK residents pay tax, so they receive benefits in return. Illegal logging is prohibited so we have beautiful nature sights. God bless HK!

What advice would you give to your Pangyaos?

Know and fight for your rights, protect yourself and your documents from bad friends. Do not clean outside windows if you want to live longer. Your family in the Philippines is waiting for you. God bless, Pangyaos!
