What’s your name and the organisation you represent?

My name is Eko Siti Rahayu, I teach English at TCK Learning Centre for Migrant Workers.

Tell us a bit more about yourself and your group's advocacy.

I have been working in Hong Kong for more than ten years. I am a member of TCK Learning Centre and volunteer as a tutor for our Basic English Basic classes. We offer classes and workshops on many different topics with a focus on English, Computer, Book-keeping, Mandarin, Sewing and Dress-making and Make-up.

How do you sign up for the courses?

Our students first become members of TCKLC and there is a membership fee of HK$100 per year. Once you're a member you can sign up for any of the courses we offer that you want.

What improvements in Migrant lives would you like to see?

I wish that migrant workers in Hong Kong, especially Indonesians, can improve their English as it's the language that we should know to work overseas.  And then there are other skills that migrants should learn so that it is possible for us to do different work when we go back to Indonesia, for example in a beauty salon, tailoring or teaching.

Advice for our Pangyaos here in HK?

I wish every migrant working in Hong Kong would spend their time here well learn many things so they have skills when they go back to their home country.
