FALLEN ANGEL

A soothing touch, woke her up

She opened her eyes slowly

Seeing her better half, she clinched

He looked away, avoiding her gaze

She tried to move, she shifted

But she felt the pain from her wounds

Her body still aching

Exhausted from hours of endless contractions of sweet labor

She stared at her empty bedside

Her angel, was nowhere to be found

Her weary eyes questioning

But nobody dared to talk

A man in white uniform went in

Breaking the tension of silence

In his arms, he was holding something

Wrapped in satin white cloth

It was her angel fast asleep.... deep asleep

She looked so delicate, and, purplish and ... so still?

She felt her heart, it was non-beating

She felt her air, it was non-breathing

She was shocked!

devastated!

wrecked!

crushed!

,,,,,, And Heartbroken!

She gathered all her strength that was left of her

She screamed and whimpered!!!

As she held her perished infant tightly

She was in deep agony, in yearning, mourning the death of a joyful birth

Wishing that her cries would wake her up, but ended up in desperation

She gave up in utter frustration

Hovering for comfort from dear ones, they consoled her

Looking now at the still life in her arms

She planted her first and last kiss

Unselfishly, she offered up her little one wholeheartedly

..... "God has you in His arms now, Iwill have you forever in my heart.... 💗
