We made our way to the colourful and very festive decorations of HK BAKMARI’s Christmas party venue at Pier 10, with four lively children in tow.
There to greet us were Group President Madam Adoracion Balila, and Sensei Myrna, the martial arts master of HK BAKMARI. They were very welcoming, and as it is in Filipino culture, the first thing they did was invite us to eat.
Okay, let’s talk about the food. They had a 10-foot long table that was filled end to end with delicious food. Pancit, lechon, adobo, roasted duck, salad, lots of desserts and my personal favourite, tokwa’t baboy. It was a Christmas feast.
The kids loved the two friendly and funny Santas, who gave them handfuls of sweets and little presents. The Santas did a showdown which was met with roaring laughter and jeers from opposing Santa teams.
Towards the end of the program, Martin and I gave away some PANGYAO.HK picnic mats and Pinoy Life on RTHK umbrellas. Good for their days on the beach! Although, the weather is getting chillier now :-)
